10 Days in Uganda and Kenya

East Africa offers a rhythm that stays with you long after you leave. You will hear it in the hoot of a mountain gorilla in Uganda’s misty forests. You will see it in the golden sunrise over Kenya’s Masai Mara. Combining these two countries into a 10 day journey creates the ultimate African safari. Uganda’s Primate Paradise

Your adventure begins in Entebbe. This quiet town sits on the shores of Lake Victoria. Spend your first day acclimatizing and visiting the botanical gardens. On Day 2, you head southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The name is accurate. This forest is a tangled, ancient masterpiece of biodiversity. It looks like a scene from a prehistoric era.

Day 3 is the highlight: Mountain Gorilla Trekking. Expert rangers and the Jackal Adventures team lead you through dense foliage. You will climb steep ridges until you find a habituated family. You then spend one hour with these gentle giants. Watching infants play while a 400 pound silverback keeps watch is a spiritual experience. It transcends typical wildlife viewing. This moment creates a profound connection with our closest biological relatives.

Next, you visit Queen Elizabeth National Park. The scenery shifts here from forest to open savannah. The Ishasha sector is famous for its tree climbing lions. This is a rare behavior found in very few places. You will also enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Here, hippos and crocodiles crowd the banks. Elephants often come down for a drink as the sun sets over the water.

Kenya’s Iconic Wild

A short flight takes you to Nairobi. From this bustling Green City in the Sun. Alternatively, you can travel by road with Jackal Adventures in a sturdy 4×4 Land Cruiser. You head to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This is arguably the most famous wildlife destination on Earth. The Mara hosts the Great Migration every year. However, the resident lions, leopards, and cheetahs provide world class sightings year round.

Jackal Adventures uses custom 4×4 Land Cruisers with pop up roofs. These vehicles are essential for the Mara’s vast terrain. Their guides act as passionate storytellers. They do more than just find animals. They explain the social structures of hyena clans and the hunting strategies of cheetahs.

Your final stop is Lake Nakuru National Park. While the Mara focuses on predators, Nakuru highlights elegance and conservation. It serves as a vital sanctuary for black and white rhinoceroses. These animals are increasingly rare. Seeing thousands of flamingos paint the lake pink creates a perfect final memory.

Essential Travel Tips

Planning a multi country trip is complex. You must manage different currencies, park fees, and health rules.

• The East African Tourist Visa: This single visa covers Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. It makes border crossings simple.
• Packing: Bring sturdy, waterproof hiking boots for the mud in Bwindi. Pack light, neutral colored cotton clothing for the Kenyan heat.
• The Jackal Advantage: Jackal Adventures secures the gorilla permits for you. This lets you focus entirely on the horizon.
