Cruise the river to the foot of the world’s most powerful waterfall, where the entire Nile forces itself through a gorge just seven metres wide. Along the banks: the greatest concentration of hippo and crocodile in East Africa, elephants drinking at dusk, and the elusive shoebill in the delta.
The Kazinga Channel, Queen Elizabeth
A natural channel linking two lakes, and one of the densest gatherings of hippo on the continent. The afternoon launch drifts past buffalo wallowing in the shallows, elephants crossing at the narrows, and a shoreline crowded with pelicans, storks and fish eagles.
